My name is Pamela Babb, I started watching birds in my thirties but I had a problem remembering field marks, so I picked up my camera and started taking pictures of them. My pictures were adequate for identification purposes but were very disappointing otherwise. My love affair with the camera really started after I was hired to work for a Master Craftsmen Photographer here in San Antonio. Her name is Janet Rogers and it was her training, mentoring, and most importantly friendship, that gave me the confidence to start this web site. It was also Janet who gave me my photographic handle and I've been The Texas Backyard Photographer ever since. I've been a serious amateur photographer for several years, my main focus being on wild life and flowers. Three years ago I began selling my photography after successfully jurying into the River Art Group Gallery in historic La Villita in downtown San Antonio.
